Defrazzled ADD

So you're dealing with ADD, are you? I discovered I was ADD when I was 44. What a shock! No wonder I was struggling with everyday things so badly! I was overwhelmed by life itself, and no amount of tricks and tips were keeping me in line. I felt terrible about my inability to stay disciplined or keep up with things.

ADD can be debilitating in that sense because it makes you feel like a failure. However, there are some real benefits to the ADD personality, and we need to both accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative (isn't that a song?).

To that end, I've gathered up some links that have really helped me get a grip on my life as an ADD'er. I also have a husband and two kids with it, and it's manifested in very different ways in each of them. Quite a challenge, but a fun one!

Here's an article with my story:

Here are the links that helped me:

  • Thrive with ADD: This is where I started because I received a movie in my e-mail that linked to her site. Take time to take her test and see how you score, if you think ADD might be your problem. Then take time to take advantage of all the great tools she offers.
  • Instant ADD Success: This is a rather fun site. Tellman Knudson and Stephanie Frank are two VERY successful business people who both have ADD. They've put together this cool site with little videos and ideas that will help you turn your ADD into an attribute, not a curse.
  • The C3 Kids Program: This site is very helpful if you're looking for ways to deal with ADD kids.
  • The Davinci Method: This e-book describes some of the benefits of ADD and how to make it work for you. Great reading!
  • ADDitude Magazine: A GREAT resource for ADD folks to get a better grip on how and why we behave the way we do as well as how to get a grip on reality and use our so-called weakness to our advantage.
  • ADD Gold Gives you real strategies to turn your ADD "weaknesses" into your strengths.

  • The BEST program I can recommend for learning how to stay focused in spite of ADD is the FREE course called “Simpleology” It has sure helped keep my ADD brain on track for accomplishing my own goals!

If you have other resources that have benefited you, please forward them to me and I'll include them on this page.

I wish you the very best of success as you walk this journey!
