Defrazzle Your Health
Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the 'Titanic' who waved off the dessert cart

In a hurry? Jump right to the part you need:
I was one of those kids who grew up so skinny I couldn't find clothes to fit. I was very active. I went everywhere on my bike, climbed lots of trees, and rarely sat still. I was hardly ever sick.
As I got older, my life got more and more sedate, my weight began to climb (especially with the onset of puberty) and my health got poorer.
At first I started doing crash diets, and crash fitness programs, and ended up crashing. I guess there's a reason they call them that! Once I started having kids, my energy went out the window completely, and I've been struggling ever since.
Apparently it's true that the older you get, the wiser you get. I'm now learning that instead of “crashing” through diets and exercise, or deciding to change the world overnight, I need to work into changes slowly. The “Kaizen” of self improvement instead of the “Bulldozer” of self improvement It's really hard for me to move slowly through change, but I'm learning.

Little Tips
- Park further away and walk
- Start training your kids to be active when they're young (NOT hard!) and then work to keep up with them instead of having them slow down to keep up with you
- Get plenty of good quality sleep in a dark, quiet room
- Stretch a little every day
- Walk outside for 20 minutes every day
- Drink lots of water, green tea, rooibos tea and an occasional black tea
- Don't forget to eat healthy chocolate!
- Try to avoid jumping to pharmaceuticals every time you aren't 100%. Let your body heal itself, by going back to good old fashioned rest. You will be healthier for it!

Middle Tips
- Start a fitness program you can stick with.
- Rotate the kind of things you're doing every two or three months - for example, have you been doing great with a fitness ball? Switch over to swimming, or biking, or walking for a few months, and then switch back. This helps to eliminate the “plateau” problems you get when you keep doing the same thing.
- Try a quarterly fast or cleanse to get your system cleaned out and better able to cope with the stress you will be subjecting it to every day.

“Oh My Goodness I Need Serious Help!” Tips
Be absolutely sure to check with your doctor before you do anything if you have any serious health problems. You should check with your doctor anyway, and be very clear on what you want to do, but especially if you are very concerned about health.
- If weight is your problem, sign on with something like Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers to get accountability
- If you're just exhausted all the time, work with a nutritionist and/or personal trainer to get that energy level up. You should also talk to your Doctor. Before you see your Doctor, make sure you've gone through the steps in this e-book so that you can discuss your issues clearly with your practitioner: Fatigue Be Gone by Viveca Stone-Berry. This is just about the most comprehensive, practical, helpful book I've ever read on fatigue - and it's so short and simple! I really recommend this resource! It will make your doctor's visit much more helpful and enable your doctor to really see what's going on in your life.
