Inner Defrazzling

"The art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease."

~Voltaire

I'm no doctor or medical practitioner of any kind but it doesn't really take that kind of education and experience to see the results of stress on most people we meet today. One of the most common phrases heard seems to be “I'm just so tired!”

Let's take a look at that a little more closely. Why are we so tired all the time?

Well, if I ran my car to the ground without a break, never changing the oil, balancing the tires, or giving it a tune-up, and if I tried to run it on coke instead of on good quality gasoline, it would be no wonder that things would start to break down - and rather quickly, too!

Our bodies are the same. What we seem to be feeling is an accumulation of bad nutrition, lack of sleep and rest, and lack of purpose.

Something every body needs is a vacation: a regular monthly or quarterly time where focus is placed on the needs of the body before the needs of everything else. Try putting your whole family on a cleanse for just one week! It's not difficult. Here are some ideas to get you started:

    1. Eat only organic fruits and vegetables. Keep a good balance with starchy vegetables (beans and pulses), and other vegetables and fruit. Be as colourful as possible to get a great variety.

    2. In that same week drink 2 litres of water a day to really flush out your system.

    3. Take a good quality mineral and vitamin supplement.

    4. Take a bi-weekly bath with Epsom salts to help you rid yourself of toxins.

    5. Engage in daily, gentle, exercise - walking, swimming, etc

    6. Exfoliate the skin a couple of times that same week.

    7. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night - try and clear your calendar of every extra thing for a whole week, and engage in quiet activities like hand work (e.g. knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, woodwork, etc.)

Of course, before you do ANYTHING that is a drastic change from your physical norm you need to check with your doctor - I am no expert!

Happy Cleansing!
